Retired chef William F. Booher, 69, of 6161 Perrin Ave died at 12:34 p.m. Thursday in Lafayette Healthcare Center.  He had been a patient there since June and in failing health the past two years.  Mr. Booher was the chef at Sarge Biltz Restaurant for 32 years, retiring four years ago.  He also served as a mess sergeant in the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps.  Born in Putnam County, March 21, 1915, he lived near Crawfordsville for many years and had resided in Lafayette since 1949.  He was married Aug 6, 1940, in Lafayette to Velma C. Artman, a dietician assistant at Lafayette Health Center and also RHI Cafeteria at Purdue University. She died July 14.  Mr. Booher was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Virginia) Carpenter of Davenport, Iowa.  Mrs. Sheila Yost of Lafayette and Mrs. Ronald (Rebecca) Titus of Brookston; a brother, Everett Booher of Lafayette and one sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Lucille) Axsom of Whitesville. – kbz
